St. George Indian Orthodox Church Brisbane Choir was formed on 2008 under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Thomas Varghese and was upgraded to 16 members choir group on 2014 under the leadership of Rev. Fr. James Philip.

SGIOCB Choir sings at all services and liturgies throughout the year, adding quality to the liturgical life of the parish. Liturgical Choir is an important ministry of the parish as we are called to serve one another with our time, talent and treasure.

We abide by the liturgical heritage and norms set by Malankara Orthodox Church and maintain discipline within the organisation.

We participate in every method of worship for various sacraments, ceremonies and have been blessed to be a part of Baptisms and Holy Matrimony to add to our achievements. We keenly strive to preserve the harmonic heritage and tradition of the church. We conduct practices on regular basis.

The choir comprise of talented and dedicated singers who leads the congregation in prayers and praise. Children are encouraged to participate with choir in our holy Qurbana’s. Rehearsals are incorporated into our regular Church Sunday School curriculum.
